This session uses sports and play to explore how our bodies hold information and produce new forms of knowledge. This workshop will invite participants to explore their own relationship to sports and play through a liberatory lens - one that acknowledges the tensions implicit in sports and move beyond traditional narratives of hyper competitive, win-lose dynamics. Sporting spaces are microcosms of society, often mimicking and reinforcing harmful stereotypes and hierarchies of power. Participants will be invited to use their bodies and their play to address these tensions and move through them towards a liberatory expression of play and joy.
